Development beyond borders
For around 40 years, we have been developing labelling solutions for your requirements – individually tailored to your products, regardless of the industry. We have made it our business to find a solution for every problem – and thus to constantly think development further.
Our aim is to work out the technical task in dialogue with you on the basis of your wishes, needs and requirements, and then to find the best solution for you. To this end, we have developed a modular system with various components that can be individually adapted to your labelling tasks with self-adhesive labels.
Whether stand-alone solutions or integrated into a production line: our systems can be easily integrated into any system, and even retrofitted.
This is ensured by our team of experienced specialists and up-and-coming engineers and technicians – and has been since 1984.
Our history
Since its foundation in 1984, SES-Straßburg-Etikettier-Service GmbH has developed into a market-recognised and established supplier in the field of labelling technology. As an owner-managed family business, we stand for quality, innovation and service from a single source – made in Germany!
Thinking ahead to the future – an overview in chapters:
The founding years
1984 to 1987
Eberhard Straßburg, sales manager for the northern region at the former Schäfer Etiketten company, decides to take the step into self-employment together with his wife: they found SES-Straßburg-Etikettier-Service GmbH. At first, simple dispenser systems are built in the company’s own garage in An der Soltauer Bahn in Buchholz. In the same year, the first labelling machine is delivered to a delicatessen manufacturer from eastern Germany. In 1987, the business premises in Maurerstraße in Buchholz are rented, and SES delivers the 100th labeller.
The 1990s: growth and start of the development of technically sophisticated labelling solutions
1990 to 1999
Daughter Jacqueline Meyerhuber (née Straßburg) joins the family business. Mother and daughter expand the administration. SES employs ten people – a milestone for the company.
In 1992, the 500th labeller is delivered to a fruit and vegetable distributor from Seevetal.
SES buys a property in Zunftstraße in Buchholz and builds the current business premises.
In April 1998, son René Straßburg joins the family business – first in assembly, later in sales.
In 1999, SES delivers the 1,000th labeller to the Friesenkrone company from Marne.
The 2000s: company development and growth into a medium-sized company
In 2001, SES now employs 20 people. In 2010, the 2,000th labeller is delivered to the Feige FILLING GmbH from Bad Oldesloe.
The 2010s: further development from steel dispensers to plate dispensers with one, two or three drives for higher speeds.
René Straßburg joins the management team in 2012, and Jacqueline Meyerhuber is given full power of attorney.
In 2014, the company switches from 2D CAD to a 3D CAD system. With this, SES expands its flexibility in construction. In 2015, the number of employees increases to 30. In 2016, SES starts to train industrial mechanics.
The 2020s: a new generation takes over
In 2020, Jacqueline Meyerhuber joins the management team and her daughter, granddaughter of founder Eberhard Straßburg, Melinda Meyerhuber, supports the family business in administration.
In 2021, SES develops a new SES donor prototype.
Eberhard Straßburg withdraws from the management and retires. SES now employs 40 people.
In 2022, Melinda Meyerhuber takes over the management and SES starts training machining technicians.
To date, SES has successfully delivered over 4000 individually manufactured labelling machines.
